Northwest Supply Management Association is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting and improving the professionalism of its members. Northwest Supply Management Association is an affiliate of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM).

Membership is open to those in purchasing and materials management fields actively engaged in some aspect of the purchasing function. Northwest Supply Management Association's membership consists of purchasing professionals from companies and public agencies in Oregon and Southwest Washington in the manufacturing, government and service fields. Collectively, our membership is responsible for more than $6 billion in annual purchases.

Education

Northwest Supply Management Association helps you to do a better job through many education programs. We encourage you to set lifelong learning goals and to include some of the upcoming seminars and dinner meeting into your plans. The membership meetings are a tremendous networking forum in addition to providing education to keep our members up-to-date in the evolving purchasing field.

The education programs range from Supply Management Fundamentals (formerly Basics for Buyers) to C.P.M. and CPSM review courses and advanced purchasing related topics. If you are involved in the purchasing profession, you will find many seminars and dinner meetings available through Northwest Supply Management Association that will upgrade your knowledge, help you make essential contacts, and assist you in finding the skills you seek.

Northwest Supply Management Association's Purpose

The primary purpose of Northwest Supply Management Association is to further the growth and professionalism of our members. Through education, the association is able to enhance and strengthen its members' purchasing skills and abilities.

Northwest Supply Management Association Structure

Northwest Supply Management Association is governed by a president, vice president, secretary/treasurer and a board of directors. Committees such as membership, education, internet & services, and others contribute to the achievement of Northwest Supply Management Association's overall purpose.

Institute for Supply Management (ISM)

Founded in 1915, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) formerly the National Association of Purchasing Management is one of the most respected professional organizations in the United States. ISM is a communication link with more than 35,000-48,000 professionals just like you - success oriented men and women striving for excellence in performance.

As a progressive association, ISM's mission is to provide national and international leadership in purchasing and materials management research and education. Through various resources and a network of more than 170 affiliates throughout the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. ISM provides opportunities for practitioners to expand their professional skills and knowledge. ISM seeks to stimulate public interest in, and foster a better understanding of purchasing and material management concepts.
